I'll be traveling for most of next week during Christmas with my family. My brother just had an ACL knee surgery and we're trying to find ways to make him comfortable as we drive the 6+ hrs home, while allowing him to keep his leg straight as we are driving. (He's 6'3")
My most recent idea would be to have him sit in the rear passenger seat of my WRX sedan and then take out the top 1/2 of the front passenger seat so that his leg could stretch out straight onto the padded lower 1/2 of that seat. Has anyone ever taken the front seats apart? I'll be looking through the Service Manuals later today, but just wanted to see if anyone has ever done such a thing before. Thanks!

Monday I had my car at Wagner Subaru here in Dayton OH to have my new ACT HD Street Clutch and Gruppe-S Lightweight Flywheel installed. I picked it up at 5:30 PM that same day and drove home.
DRIVING IMPRESSIONS: 1. The clutch has a bit of "shudder" right now, but is decreasing the more I drive it around. I'm fairly confident that the thin film of oil I found on the Gruppe-S Flywheel is the cause of the shudder. Once that wears off it should grip properly and break in. 2. Downshifts with blips are really nice and quick. The car revs a bit more like a motorcycle, but not as dramatically. 3. Clutch Pedal feel is quite stiff with the ACT clutch, much harder engagement than with the stock WRX clutch. I can't compare it to an STI since I haven't driven one, but I'm guessing that the spring rate of the pressure plate in the ACT clutch is a bit higher/stiffer than the STI one. 4. Power increase in lower gears. Because the rotational weight of the crankshaft has been lightened, the engine is now able to put more power to the wheels in each gear. To see a sample of how much "mass savings" you get in each gear with a lightened flywheel, check out the attached image below.

I'm at 74k miles on my 2002 WRX Sedan and needed a battery upgrade in order to survive another winter here in OH. I did some research around and decided that the Hawker Odyssey PC680 battery was just what I wanted, 14lbs vs. the stock 35lbs (on a bathroom scale)
(IMG:http://www.portablepower.com/images/SLA/37L105S4.jpg) Here is a link to the thread that EJ20Legacy started about this battery: http://www.wrxfanatics.com/index.php?showt...%20battery&st=0 Here is a link to where I purchased the PC680T battery (You need to get the SAE automotive posts if you want to use this battery with your car, so you'll need the PC680T version) http://www.portablepower.com/items/batteri.../SL105/37L105S4 FULL battery specs, CCA, HCA, etc: http://www.enersysreservepower.com/documen...AM-001_0406.pdf

I'm planning on the EVO3 16g turbo upgrade for my WRX. I'd like to hear from current owners of the turbo as to what power levels I could expect and any dyno charts or timeslips that you might have.
This only applies to the EVO III 16g turbo, NOT the Super 16g or Regular 16g or even an 18g turbo. I'm also interested in what injector sizes you guys are using, whether 565cc (STI) or maybe 650cc injectors. Questions: 1. Did you buy your turbo as part of a package deal? 2. Did you use modded stock injectors? 3. Did you upgrade the TMIC or replace with a FMIC? 4. What spark plugs are you running? 5. Do you have any dyno plots/timeslips? 6. Did you get a port/polish job done to the turbo? 7. Did you have a heat coating applied? Compressor or Exhaust side? (or both?) Thanks folks!

Haven't we seen this before under the name Ariel Atom haven't we? What a ripoff! Just because it's electric doesn't mean you can basically steal someone else's design! This is an example of US on UK hate crime. LOL |
